What new instruments and sounds can we create using today’s newest technologies?

Throughout the ages, technological developments have offered new opportunities to create sound. To explore the new creative possibilities that 3D-printing offers to music, the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra commissioned a violin maker and a 3D designer to design original 3D-printed string instruments, and a composer to write an original composition inspired by these new sounds. Their collective efforts were presented in Ottawa at world premiere on 4 November 2018.
The CreatorSpace is proud to host two presentations on the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra’s innovative “3D StringTheory” project.
