uOttawa Interprofessional Health Association

The uOttawa Interprofessional Health Association, or uOttawa IPHA (formerly known as the Ottawa Health Sciences Students’ Association) is a registered club at the University of Ottawa, which consists of a group of students devoted to promoting interprofessional collaboration and education at the student level. The IPHA also promotes patient-centred practice and collaborative teamwork through interprofessional education in order to respond to the evolving health care needs of Canadians.

We provide interactive learning activities for students in pre-med, health and social care programs at post-secondary institutions in Ottawa, Ontario. We are best known for our two annual events, including the Healthcare Team Challenge, as well as the Panel Event. The uOttawa IPHA strives to facilitate the understanding of the various roles involved in the delivery of patient care by fostering mutual understanding, respect, and trust among colleagues in the healthcare system.

Through academic events, uOttawa IPHA facilitates the understanding of roles in delivering patient-centered care by fostering respect and trust for fellow colleagues within the healthcare system.
